The Wooster Youth Hockey Association's 3 on 3 Spring Hockey League is an excellent opportunity for players to improve and enhance their individual puck skills all while having fun in a fast-paced half-ice game. Half ice games allow each player to experience the whole game in a smaller, fast-paced setting. Players touch the puck more often and get more scoring chances than traditional games. The tighter space will put an emphasis on developing individual skills such as passing, stick handling, and dekes which will force players to keep their heads up and improve their on-ice decision making and reflexes. These critical skills will transfer back to full play ice next season.
Stick & Puck is like an “open gym” for hockey players. Stick & Puck is a public session that provides a perfect opportunity for hockey players of all ages to focus on individual skill development. Full equipment is required for players under 18. Players 18 and over must wear a helmet but we encourage full equipment as well. Private instruction may take place, full ice games are not permitted.
$14.00 per session.
Drop-In Hockey is a “pick-up game”. Once all the players are on the ice they divide into 2 teams and play a full ice pick-up game.
Thursday evenings in July, 7:00-8:10 PM. Open to players high school age and older. Space is limited to 18 skaters plus 2 goalies. Cost is $14/skater, goalies are FREE but must call 330-345-8686 to reserve a spot in advance.
ANIA is proud to once again offer our Summer Hockey Skills Training program. This high-tempo programs primary focus will be individual skill training that will include power skating, balance and agility, stride development and the essential puck skills of stick handling, shooting and passing. Due to strict limits placed on the number of skaters permitted on each ice session we will be offering classes for 3 separate age groups. Each class will be instructed by an USA Hockey certified coach, current and former junior and college hockey players.
