"Skating Academy"

 

" The Wooster Skating Academy" is an ice skating school that offers ice skating instructuon to all ages and abilities from basic skating in our I-skate program to more advanced figure skating and ice hockey training. We work in cooperation with the Alice Noble Ice Arena and the Wooster figure Skating Club to build confidience and a lifetime love of skating in a friendly family atmosphere.

Class Descriptions :
Snow Plow Sam (ages 3-5)
This class is specially designed for 3-5 yr. olds. Toys ands games are used in this class to encourage confidence and enjoyment of the learning experience. You will be amazed at how fast children of this age learn to skate. This is the class where parents can watch with a hot chocolate and not have to be a participant.
Helmets and gloves/mittens are required.
Basic Skills 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
Designed for skaters ages 5 and up, and tots who have passed Snow Plow Sam 3. Group lessons will focus on developing strong foundation while preparing skaters for safe recreational skating or advancement in both figure skating and hockey.
Adult Basic
The adult Curriculum is designed for the beginner adult skater to promote physical fitness, improve balance and coordination while learning proper skating techniques.

Club Prep
The Club Prep program introduces different disciplines in figure skating including: Jumping, spinning, and moves in the field. This class is in a group lesson format for skaters that have successfully passed onto the freeskate levels. Skaters who have passed Basic 8 or who are currently enrolled in Basic 7 or 8 may participate with an instructor's approval.

WSA Hockey Power Skating -
Our on ice Power skating classes are geared to skills and a level of understanding appropriate to the age, ability and experience of the hockey player. Special emphasis will be placed on applications of skills to game situations! Skaters will learn progressive skill development with emphasis placed on Power, Balance, Agility and Edge. Full equipment required.

Basic Hockey -
Designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the levels.
Skaters must have passed Basic 2 or have permission to enroll in thei class.
