Learn to Skate

Alice Noble Ice Arena offers a wide range of Learn-to-Skate classes in a fun and
relaxed environment for skaters of all skill levels. The Learn-to-Skate is divided into
several comprehensive levels, based on the United States Figure Skating Association
(USFSA) guidelines and standards: Professional instructors will conduct classes in
a positive atmosphere, providing quality instruction and motivation for recreational,
hockey and figure skating of all ages.

                  

Class Descriptions :

Little One's  Skate-date
Bring Mom or Dad with you for skate lessons and lunch.
Ms Penny or Ms Christi will teach you and/ or just your child to skate. Then stay and talk while you eat lunch.

Snow Plow Sam
Entry level class which is designed for children ages 3 - 5 years old. Foundational skating is combined with fun and games to encourage confidence on the ice while developing strong skills.

Basic Skills
Designed for skaters 5 and up, and tots who have passed Snow Plow Sam 3. Group lessons will focus on developing strong foundational skills that will help the skater to progress to other advanced levels of opportunity.

Hockey 1 & 2
Designed for skaters who may be interested in hockey skating. A fun class for boys and girls that will focus on strengthening skating skills that are used in the game of hockey. No additional equipment is required but is strongly encouraged. Skaters may progress from this class to Introduction to Hockey.

Introduction to Hockey
The class will take the hockey skater to the next level of game development. The lesson will employ the proper use of a hockey stick under the direct supervision of an instructor. The skater will be introduced to a variety of hockey drills as well as developing stick and puck handling skills and foundational game mechanics. The skaters may progress from this class to a hockey clinic and/or league play with the Wooster Hockey Club. Helmets, shin pads, and athletic protectors are required. Class fees are @$78.00 including use of equipment, or $60.00 for players with their own equipment.

Adult
Designed to meet the needs and goals of the individual, from beginner through advanced basic skills. Adult skaters are working at their own comfortable pace while learning the foundational skills of skating through small groups and individual attention.

Introduction to Junior Group
This class is designed for the intermediate level LTS student (Basic 3 & up) who may be interested in becoming a serious figure skater. The lesson will prepare skaters to make effective use of full ice and encourage them to broaden their interest in competitive figure skating. Skaters may progress from this class to the Junior Group program, when recommended by their instructor.

Junior Group
A full ice session that is geared toward the serious figure skater. The lesson will incorporate Moves-in-the-Field and Free Skate elements and introduce students to testing and competing. The session is opened to advanced LTS students by instructor recommendation as well as club skaters. This session will also introduce skaters the Wooster Figure Skating Club.
